you can find the patterns here.

the bunnies came from

Carrots are done with a triangle sewn on one side and gathered at top,, the carrot top I just cut out varies shapes and hand sewed them into the top of the carrots

these are fun to make and the variety is great., easy peasy pattern and good for the soul.

Timeless Treasure Totes, made with lovely Aboriginal Patterned Fabric.

Another project under my needles,,, I have been holding on to this fabric for a while,,

Beautiful Quality fabric really makes a lovely item.

Doll beds and Quilts for American Girl Dolls

A gift for the twins,,, They had the prettiest fabric of summer dresses and when they outgrew them I stashed them for fabric. Last week, Ron made them wooden doll beds for their American Girl Dolls and I made little quilts and pillows for the beds,,, We made the mattresses out of foam and I took the pillow cases from the twins bed set to cover the mattress,,, Was a nice send off for the twins,,,

The Splendid Sampler 100 Block Mystery Quilt

We have completed week 2 of The Splendid Sampler 100 Block Mystery Quilt by Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson.

you can see the main website at  - http://www.thesplendidsampler.com/

there is something like 30,000 people world wide doing the same quilt,, different fabrics, twice a week a pattern is posted and when we make it we share it on the Facebook webpage.  Within hours after the pattern is posted we see many pictures in our FB feed that shows how different fabric and interpretations are done.  I am learning amazing techniques and then I challenge myself to make the block.  The work is tiny , working with 1 inch blocks on some of the squares is something a a I have never done.

So here is my first 4 blocks.  I will update my block with photo's of this project every 4 to 6 blocks.

I am using Moda Fabrics "Kansas Trouble"  I was not to crazy about this fabric once I started to work with it,, I ordered in on line and it is a little to traditional for my liking but this is a learning quilt and I am positive when it is done, I will be happy with my work,

enjoy the journey to all my fellow quilters.. I am looking forward to the challenge.

First Attempt at the Attic Window!

I stretched a bit in my quilting this weekend.  I tackled what is called Attic Window.

I took a Disney Panel cut it up into 12 equal parts and framed each window to look like you are looking out at the panel.  Percision cutting and perfect 1/4 inch seams are essential to making this quilt work.

I tried, and it is not bad for a first time..  I learned how to …. that is what this sewing adventure is all about.

New Sewing Room, New Aspirations. 2016

My 27 year old son has bounced home more than once, and this month he left again.  Hopefully he is gone for good, not because I don't love him, but hey,,, I want a sewing room.  There are somethings in life that a girl needs..

So he left on January 15 and today January 31 I have a full fledge sewing room and I have had something like 30 hours to play in it in the past few weeks… Life is good.

Here is my latest projects.  I have been obsessed with Owls.  There are so many cute owls in the world. and I am enjoying making pillows, blankets, and drawing owls.  ( watch for some free digi-downloads)

Owl baby quilt for my first grandchild

No pattern just a bundle of cool fabrics that I bought off of Craftsy.com. I was so excited to meet our little darling, but she came a month early.  Because we did not know the gender, my fist quilt for her was in blues, greens, and yellows, but I had to make a custom quilt in pinks with her name embroidered on.

Sewing Fun

After years of taking a break from my sewing I am slowly starting.  I have a passion for Asian fabris and tried a table runner for a change of pace and I was thrilled with my results of my first try.

Soon my first grandchild will arrive and I will be posting some sewing baby goodies,,, sew-excited!

Asian Screen.

I had some fun teaching the twins to make Asian Screens.  This active pair of 7 year olds love to do art and making this was fun for all of us..plus it kept us in the shade during a very hot day.

This stamp is a oldie, I have had it for years but barely had a chance to play with it.

It has been awhile….

It has been many moons since I have posted something on my blog.

Although I have been creating items, not everything is worth blogging about.

I have a few special projects in the hopper, but for now I want to share my Rainyday Girl.

Found the digi on Etsy. and colored her with my Copic Markers.

I have a few girls who like to draw and color so these downloaded images are great for keeping them busy.  Had to try my hand at it. They are fun, now to make her into a card.

Gift Set for a very nice person.

Finding time to make anything these days is hard. I always thought after the kids moved out I would have more time. But it seems like less. Three dogs, Three pieces of property, and two jobs take up a large chunk of time, but now that summer is approaching I am taking the time to have some fun with stamps.

Had some fun whipping up this little set for a gift for a friend. This is one of my favorite stamp sets, and I have used it a few times to make similar sets,, good fun for a friend.
Enjoy,,

Quick little birthday card.

I needed a quick little card for a little girl, and I pulled out this great stamp from MARI & ME.
Decided to make it a Challenge card for my favorite OSA Stamp group.
Used Circut Pagoda Cartridge for the branch and flowers.

Flower Making with the Cricut.

Making these flowers was tons of fun.
To start with I cut out 5 flower shapes from Plantin Schoolbook
The paper was a light peach
I cut the shapes at 1.5" 1.75" 2" 2.25" 2.5"
After that I ran them through the cuttlebug
and then I inked them with a dark peach versamark.
I glued them together with zip dry glue and added my bling.
The leaves were also done in the same manner.

Watch for me to make many more in upcoming weeks, these are addictive.

Fun with Exploding Boxes

3 Co-Workers are expecting in August. Since the cards and Gifts will be from all of us NOT expecting , I thought these box cards would be nice for everyone to sign. They are so addicting to make.
